What WhatsApp (Meta) charges you
Since October 2026 Meta charges per message delivered: marketing templates (offers, campaigns), utility templates (order updates) and service replies – including the bot's answers – after the first 1,000 free service messages per number each month. Customers messaging you is always free.
Rough UK guide: a reply or order update costs about 2p, a marketing message about 5p (check Meta's current rate card). Example: 3,000 bot replies a month ≈ 2,000 paid × 2p ≈ £40 to Meta. Your dashboard shows an estimate before you send.
Questions
Do I need the WhatsApp Business API?
For the full chat shop and AI, yes – you connect it through Meta's official sign-up in a few minutes, and you can keep using the WhatsApp Business app on the same number. Going live needs a Meta business account with a payment method (Meta bills its message fees to you directly). During the trial you can try everything in the built-in test chat first. You can also start in "lite" mode: a storefront where orders arrive in your normal WhatsApp.
Does it work with my Shopify or WooCommerce shop?
Yes. Products, prices and stock are read live, and orders are created in your shop – so fulfilment, stock and accounting work exactly as today.
What does WhatsApp itself charge?
Meta charges per delivered message: marketing and utility templates, and – since 1 October 2026 – service replies after 1,000 free per number per month. In the UK that's roughly 2p per reply/update and 5p per marketing message. Meta bills you directly; we never mark it up, and the dashboard estimates your Meta spend before you send a campaign.
Is it really an AI?
Yes – and your customers are told so in the first reply, with an easy way to reach a person. It's built for selling to and supporting your own customers, as WhatsApp's rules require.
Can the AI make mistakes?
It only uses your real catalogue and the policies you give it, and hands over to your team when it's unsure or the customer asks for a person. You can review every chat in the inbox.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes – manage or cancel your subscription from the Billing page. No contracts.
Is my data safe?
Credentials are encrypted, webhooks are verified, and we act as your data processor under a UK GDPR data processing agreement.
